94th Anniversary of the Iglesia ni Cristo

July 27th, 2008  |  Published in Interesting Stuff, Religion  |  40 Comments

Today, July 27, marks the 94th anniversary of the Iglesia ni Cristo (Church of Christ), one of the biggest Christian denominations in the country and arguably an incredible (some would say impossible) success story. The INC was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on July 27, 1914, the same day World War One broke out in Europe. (The members of the Church believe that the simultaneity of the two events is the fulfillment of the biblical prophecy foretold in the books of Isaiah and Revelation.)

From that little congregation in Punta, Sta. Ana, Manila, the Iglesia has grown and expanded vastly, even establishing a congregation in Honolulu, Hawaii only 50 years after its conception. The Church now has a presence in around 90 countries and territories worldwide. More than 100 different races and ethnicities comprise its population. Truly, the Iglesia has gone far since its early days—farther than its adamant detractors could have ever imagined.

To God be the glory on this auspicious occasion.

    THE TRUTH

Read Revelation 1:8 and check out the words of Jesus himself. I AM Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord God, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
In this one text Jesus subscribes to himself the same titles used of God in the Old Testament. If Jesus is not God, he lied when he claimed to John to be the Lord God. Jesus claims he is the LORD GOD, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the ALMIGHTY! For the Iglesia Ni Cristo group to claim Jesus was only a man is to call Jesus a liar. Who do we believe, the Iglesia Ni Cristo and the central administration or Jesus?
BIG PROBLEM! What about his last baptism and the authority to baptise new converts into his new religion? DID FELIX USE A BAPTISM FROM ONE OF THE PRIOR DEVIL RELIGIONS AS HIS AUTHORITY TO BAPTIZE INTO HIS NEW RELIGION?

Bible translation of George Lamsa. They loved his translation of “Church of God” into “Church of Christ” in Acts 20:28.

These bible translations of Acts 20:28 is “8Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.”

INC explains the four angels on the four corners of the earth in Revelation 7:
Translation: “The four angels holding the winds were leaders of nations, who were also messengers, or angels, as written in I Pet. 2:13-14. The wind that they were controlling refers to war as mentioned in Jer. 4:11-13, 19. This was the war that broke out on 1914. The four leaders of nations who worked on the prevention of the war, which broke out in 1914, were Lloyd George of Great Britain, Clemenceau of France, Orlando of Italy, and Wilson of America. They were better known as the Big Four” (World History, p. 494)–(Pasugo, July 1964, p. 33).
Now get this: it would be Felix Manalo to instruct George, Clemenceau, Orlando, and Wilson, NOT TO HURT THE EARTH UNTIL THEY (Manalo and these four), HAD SEALED THE 144,000 IN THEIR FOREHEADS. Did Felix Manalo DO THIS? No! Did he even write letters to these four men-angels? No! Did he call them on the hot-line? No! Did he send them a telegram? No! Did he send a smoke signal message? No! Did Manalo and these four men seal 144,000 in their foreheads with the seal of God? No! Did Manalo and these four men even try to seek out the 144,000 from the 12 tribes of Israel? No! Manalo came to America we are told in 1919 and did not even send a post card to President Wilson. Lies, Lies, Lies, and these people really believe they are the true Church of Christ?
    Who were the Big Four?
The Big Four were the Allied leaders who met at the Paris Peace Conference in January 1919, after World War I (1914–18). They were President Woodrow Wilson (1856–1924) of the United States, Prime Minister David Lloyd George (1863–1945) of Britain, Premier Georges Clemenceau (1841–1929) of France, and Premier Vittorio Orlando (1860–1952) of Italy. The Allies included twenty more nations and representatives from all the countries attended the conference. The decisions, however, were made by these four heads of state. Other representatives formed committees to work out the details of treaties signed by each of the Central Powers (Austria-Hungary, Germany, Bulgaria, and the Ottoman Empire): the Treaty of Versailles was signed with Germany; the Treaty of St. Germain, with Austria; the Treaty of Neuilly, with Bulgaria; the Treaty of Trianon, with Hungary; and the Treaty of Sevres, with the Ottoman…

Obey what is written and commandment who are they to dispute the scriptures they didn’t even wrote a single verse? We cannot command the scriptures to only pick what is applied to oneself’s faith but believing all that is written and be your faith by prayer even though its hard and painful BECAUSE IT IS WRITTEN. No one can change what is written

@yengann, you needn’t post your comment twice.

I am a mere brother in the Church, and therefore am not the right person to talk to regarding our beliefs. Please head to the Iglesia ni Cristo locale nearest you if you want your questions about the Church answered.

I can say this about Revelation 1:8, though. Clearly, it is the Lord God speaking in that verse and not Jesus Christ. Therefore it was not Christ, but God Himself, who said He was the Alpha and the Omega. Please get your facts straight. (We’re non-Trinitarian, remember?)

I’ve decided not to delete your comment (I will delete its duplicate, though), but please don’t post any more of this clutter. If you read through the post, I tried to write it in the most respectful, non-discriminating manner possible. If you want to engage in open, healthy debate, do so with our ministers, not with me, a mere member of the Church (a 13-year-old, at that).

The purpose of this post was to congratulate the Church on the occasion of its 94th anniversary, not to refute other religion’s beliefs. Please don’t turn the comments section into a sort of online debate forum–if you do so I’ll be forced to delete your comments, or disable commenting on this post altogether.

    Thanks for the comments.
